Lucky Beaver Bar & Burger Golf Tournament Raises $50,000 for Ronald McDonald House | South of Lake Tahoe

The 2nd Annual Lucky Beaver Bar & Burger Crowns Golf Tournament held in September raised $50,000 for Ronald McDonald House. The sold-out event was hosted by Lucky Beaver Reno and Lucky Beaver Tahoe locations and took place at the Lakeridge Golf Course. This was no ordinary golf tournament. Golf ball cannons, water cannons and a chance to win a $250,000 Malibu boat from the West Coast Boat Center, plus $10,000 in cash made the day super exciting according to several teams that participated.

“It’s all about people,” said Mike Leeper, co-owner of Lucky Beave and Burger. “I want to thank our sponsors, players and staff at Lucky Beaver for their continued support of our community and our restaurants. We are fortunate to have charities like Ronald McDonald House in our community and it is an honor to have the ability to help out whenever we can.

The team that won the perpetual Lucky Beaver Tournament Cup was the team of Auston Byak, Paul Windt, Cory Tritt and Apolo Poth, with a score of 15 under par. Several sponsors also participated in the tournament to support the cause.

Lucky Beaver’s $50,000 donation will contribute to the more than $800,000 operating budget Ronald McDonald House Charities endure each year. Ronald McDonald House Charities Northern Nevada keeps families close when it matters most: during illness, accident or the premature birth of their child. Our donors and volunteers provide the gift of unity, providing a home for families who need to be together during difficult times.

The Ronald McDonald House is located in Reno, Nevada, and houses families living more than 30 miles away with a child being treated at an area hospital. We ease the emotional and financial strains families experience when their children face health complications through four programs: Ronald McDonald House, Ronald McDonald Family Room, Ronald McDonald Care Mobile and Travel-for-Treatment. .
