Dagwood’s Deli has served and entertained guests in Myrtle Beach since 1988 and Surfside Beach since 2006.

Now the grocery store owner is hoping to show diners in North Myrtle Beach why he’s become a local favorite.

Jon Staton, owner and managing partner of Dagwood, plans to open a third site in early 2022.

Like the Surfside Beach location, it will be called Dagwood’s Deli & Sports Bar. It will open at 4200 Highway 17 South in NMB, which is a former Sticky Fingers location.

“Hopefully in February, but yet to be determined because everything is difficult these days,” said Dagwood Marketing Director Tiffany Doolittle.

The original Dagwood’s opened on Mr. Joe White Ave. in downtown Myrtle Beach in 1988 and Bumstead’s Pub was added in 2003. The names are inspired by one of the main characters in the “Blondie” comic, Dagwood Bumstead. The southern location opened in 2006 off the US 17 Business.

North Myrtle Beach Dagwood’s will mirror the Surfside Beach restaurant, including six-person sliding benches covered with an awning on an outdoor patio.

“There will be a traditional restaurant, waiters, a full bar, a party room where you can have larger groups, the same menu… and tons of TVs in every corner and in every booth, so it’s going to be replicated. way, ”Doolittle said.

Dagwood’s full menu offers plenty of entrees and appetizers including chicken fritters, buffalo shrimp, blackened shrimp, blackened mahi, southwest chicken spring rolls, wings, potatoes under several shapes, fries and nachos.

There are also quesadillas, soups, salads, baskets, burgers, cheesesteaks, plenty of deli sandwiches, and over 20 hot sandwiches, including a grilled prime rib and four varieties of Rubens.

Dagwood’s caters to large groups both in the restaurant and remotely. Orders can be placed at dagwoodsdeli.com.
